DEALING WITH SWAP SUGGESTIONS
How do you know if someone wants your book?
- You should receive an email whenever someone suggests a swap for one of your books
- Your books status changes from Available to Interest. This is just to let other members know if they're interested in the book, they're not the only one. It won't prohibit them from suggesting swaps as well, it's just to let them know the book is popular.
- If you go to you’re My Books list in your members section, you should see the books you’ve added to the site is listed in a table. Different row colours in this table highlight different things, at the moment all we’re interested in is if the row is white (which means the book is available on the site), or blue (which means someone has suggested a swap). The other colour we’re looking for is Orange (which means someone has suggest a swap involving one of your books and as luck would have it, you’ve suggested a swap for one of their books).
Ok, so someone wants one of my books. Now what?
In your My Books list in your Member section, once you've found the book another swapper is interested in (try using the filters to help find the book quicker). Anyway, you’ve found your book in the list and clicked it to be taken to the book detail page. On this page just beneath your book you should see a list of the people interested in this book. The list contains the swappers name and their swapper score. You should see in the list you also have two options
1. Reject Swap
2. View Books
Reject the Swap
Clicking the first option will obviously reject the proposed swap. This will send an email to the swapper who raised the suggestion, politely informing them that the swap has been rejected. If there was only one swap suggestion on the book, the books status will revert back to Available.
View Books
Clicking the second will allow you to view all the books that the interested swapper has added and is available on the site. It's the equivalent of your My Books list but obviously with fewer options and it's not your books but the books of the other swapper.
Once you see a book of theirs you like, click it to go to it’s book detail page. From there you should see a button simply entitled “Swap”.
Clicking it will send the proposed swap back to the other member for them to confirm the swap. Once they confirm it, the swap is done and you should post the books to one another (addresses for delivery will be supplied in an email).
Once you suggest a swap, both books are temporarily removed from the site so no-one else can suggest swaps for them.
